JULY 2020

Hello, friends!

We could hardly imagine a more crazy year than the one the Lord is bringing us through. “Staying at home” has certainly had its ups and downs. The JAARS Clinic has just reopened with all the caveats expected; masks, no waiting room, LOTS of screening questions and temperature taking. Please continue to pray that countries open up so that travel can safely begin again. Also, please pray for staffing at the clinic - some have not been able to return because of COVID and we need another doctor. Michelle has made 150 masks for distribution around JAARS and locally.

Loren is still continuing to build an online security course for missionaries around the world to secure their devices and accounts. Having to stay at home has actually opened some doors - for example the training would have only been for one conference in Africa but now is available for so many more since it had to be done online.

Life has changed for so many but the Lord is not surprised by anything we face. He will use it for good to accomplish His plans. Please pray for JAARS as many things are still closed - the museums, tours, gift shop - anything to the public. Our prayer is for the Lord to work miraculously to continue sharing the mission of Bible Translation - even when we can’t do it face to face!

Loren has been working tirelessly for months helping his mother to prepare her house for selling. He has enjoyed using some great power equipment and has been able to help her with so many repairs. Please pray for her house to sell and for the Lord to open doors for a new house in Waxhaw.

Zack started his new career in welding and is working for S T Meyer in SC. Matthew is working with Duke Energy in IT support. They will be moving into an apartment together in August. Please pray that they return to the Lord and seek Him in all they do. We pray that the Lord brings people to speak into their lives and challenge them on issues. Mr. Bean (our dog) has become outrageously spoiled having us home with him all the time.

We pray for each of you and ask the Lord to keep you healthy and safe through these crazy times. Thank you for your prayers for us - they are precious. We look forward to visiting with you and telling the stories of what the Lord is doing in Bible Translation.

Love in Christ,

Loren and Michelle
