Protected areas
A protected area is a clearly defined geographical space, recognised, dedicated and managed, through legal or other effective means, to achieve the long term conservation of nature with associated ecosystem services and cultural values. Several studies have been conducted on the useful plant resources used by the different communities settled in fringe villages of the protected areas. Due to living in proximity of different communities within a defined range, the vernacular names intermingle, so this page will include several sub pages on the studies conducted from different protected areas.
