This was my first time translating a plot of an episode of a TV show into emoji. When completing the translation, I thought about the climax and important sequences of the episode. I then decided to rely more on words in order to translate my plot into emoji. I really enjoyed this experience because it made me try and complete a summary of an episode with little images aka emojis. In usual circumstance I would have written a short paragraph about the episode. After completing the readings and task #6, I recognized how technology has really introduced us with so many opportunities/possibilities to explore and demonstrate what we want to say (Hayles, 2003). After reflecting upon the readings, I do agree that with the evolution of technology, we have become more acquainted with visual descriptors such as images, images that provide descriptions, and now emojis. As Boulter mentions “A paragraph of prose is a last resort— to be used when she runs out of ideas, time, or production resources.” (p.71).
