My colleague’s work differed from mine because Helena used Google Docs as her voice to text technology, meanwhile I had used Speechnotes. Helena chose to use UBC Blogs to manifest her work. This was the suggested approach by Ernesto, but I chose to create a Google Site for the ETEC 540 course because I really like the UI and how simple it is to create a website and fill it up with content. On my google site I have embedded a Padlet wall which gives people the opportunity to comment/ leave their thoughts about my work. I believe mine and Helena’s site provides social literacy. Her content also provides the reader the opportunity to engage with her content by reflecting on what she says, the course material, and what the reader also wrote regarding the topic. Therefore, I was able to connect to her Task #3. When I commented on it I wrote: “Hello Helena, In my voice to text story I also recognized that my punctuation was off. I recognize halfway through my story that there was no punctuation, so I then started saying "comma", "period" and it felt weird. haha . By putting the punctuation in my short story, I felt like I really lost my flow. When you mentioned "I think if I had scripted the story, it probably would have made it slightly more clear and more concise." I fully agree with you, but then I believe the activity would lose value. What do you think? Thank you for your post!”

My colleagues work differed from mine because she re-created the task by making it into a cool rap song, meanwhile I chose to re-design the task by making students record an audio of their voice by only using nouns, and I gave them another option where they were able to create a list on Canva. Angela chose to use UBC Blogs to manifest her work. I was able to connect to Angela’s task #7 because I found it unique. It was very different compared to mine, but that’s what made me want to comment on her post. I think her website privileges social engagement and Angela provides genuine content that I can read, reflect and then post about. Both of our sites are filled with material that is backed by the research provided to us in the ETEC 540 course.

What drove me to comment on Deborah’s post was the fact that she thought the exact same thing I did when completing it. We both agreed that it was the most frustrating task. The UI was of that game was so bad. Deborah chose to use UBC Blogs to manifest her work. Deborah’s site privileges engagement through her content that she posts. Her words and media she put along with her posts are a great way to attract students to read her content. I have been very fortunate so far throughout the course to read and respond to great content that all of my classmates post. Many of my classmates have also replied to my posts in my “comment/’reply” section.

What drove me to comment on Dana’s post was the fact that she was one of the few people in the course that chose to do the “Text to Image” assignment for Task 11. A similar feeling, we both felt when completing this assignment was that it was fun, and we both recognized the speed and development of AI in recent times. Dana chose to use UBC Blogs to manifest her work. This was the suggested approach by Ernesto, but I chose to create a Google Site for the ETEC 540 course because I really like the UI and how simple it is to create a website and fill it up with content. Danas post was engaging because she posted her results (AI pictures), and she expanded upon the role of algorithms in AI.

What stood out to me about Phi’s task 7 is that it was very different compared to mine. In my task 7 , I made students describe the contents of their bag with only nouns, and they had to audio record it, or they were able to write the nouns on a list they would create on the platform Canva. Phi’s task 7 was more free flow by video recording himself going through the contents of his bag and providing a rationale to why each item is in his bag. Both of our ways are very different, but they both have one very important thing in common: To reach our goal in showing the reader/viewer what is in our bag. Phi chose to use UBC Blogs to manifest his work. What stood out in Chris’ post was that there were several similarities to mine. We both mentioned in our reflection sections how we both noticed grammatical issues such as missing punctuation marks, and missing capitalization. When a story is orally said, the only thing we can rely on as a listener is the person's story telling potential and abilities (Ong, 2002). Chris chose to use UBC Blogs to manifest his work.
