Staff members and students from Tramore Road Campus took part in the SIVE (Sustainability In Vocational Education) project organised by CETB European Projects.
The SIVE project devised by Gerard Brennan of CETB European Projects focuses on the sharing of sustainability methods with six partner VET organisations around Europe: Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Romania and Ireland.

This project offered our teachers and students a great opportunity to help improve our campus sustainability strategy by sharing and bringing back valuable learning from engagement in events hosted by our European partners. Both Daniel Crowley and Bartley Burns made presentations on the sustainability initiatives put in place by Tramore Road Campus as part of Erasmus+ SIVE LTT and blended learning events held in Talavera de la Reina in Spain, Brakel in Germany and Siauliai in Lithuania . All events involved staff and students and proved to be very informative and educational as each partner shared their initiatives on sustainability covering waste, biodiversity, water, energy and travel. The events also included visits to the RioTajo (Tagus river) in Spain to witness the effects of climate change on this natural resource and also a visit to a regeneration farm and Hammerhof Forest Park in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

The final group LTTA ( Learning Teaching Training Activities) event was held in Lithuania. This event gathered all the teachers and students participating on the SIVE project (approx 50 people) for engagement in presentations, workshops and activities connected to sustainability. Each country shared their goals, challenges and practical tips on best practice in dealing with waste management, water usage, energy usage and sustainable travel.
The main topic was the development of a holistic approach to sustainability in VET and the creation of Sustainability policies for VET institutes. Tramore Road Campus presented our Green Campus application process and our development of a green charter. Our students from the Horticulture course represented our campus through involvement in presentations, workshops and activities organised by our Lithuanian hosts.
