Brainstorming action plans
· Invest only in clothes you really like and need
· We can shop second-hand
· We can go somewhere else at the weekend
· Buy fewer clothes
· Buy organic
· Shop sustainable brands (for example Patagonia)
Our action plan at school
· Every week we can organise a thrift shop (for example every Tuesday from 4 pm until 6 pm) and everyone can bring clothes that they don’t want to wear anymore to the shop
· We can give the clothes that we don’t want to wear anymore to people who need them (so the people who cannot buy them can get them because they are poor) -> give it to ‘t Kelderke (a charity organisation)
Attractive action plans
Personal behaviour
We can sell or buy clothes on Vinted, that is an app where you can sell or buy cheap clothes and it is very safe (shipping etc.). Sustainable products also should be competitively priced to attract cost-conscious consumers. Furthermore, we need to clearly communicate the environmental, social, and personal benefits of sustainable choices. We should explain how these choices positively impact the planet, support ethical practices, and improve the consumer's well-being. We ought to choose partners with eco-conscious influencers and celebrities who can promote sustainable choices and make them more appealing to their followers.
School
We need to choose a convenient and high-traffic location for our thrift shop and design an attractive and organized store layout with well-lit and inviting displays. We can also create a unique and memorable name and branding for our thrift shop that reflects our vision and values. Another attractive plan is to offer competitive and reasonable prices. Furthermore we can use social media to
showcase new arrivals, share customer stories, and promote sales and events. Finally we need to keep the store clean, well-organized, and free of clutter and ensure that items are neatly arranged by category or theme for easy browsing.
