The famous companies, governments should take this into
consideration. For example, work of equal value should be paid
equally, transparently applied and monitored across all aspects of
garment sector supply chains. Gender equality should also be taken
into account in leadership, management and decision-making. Safe
and healthy workplaces that are free of discrimination, violence and
harassment are also very important, including gender-based violence
and harassment, support women’s health and wellbeing, including
sexual and reproductive health and rights. They should also reduce
unpaid care responsibilities for women through affordable, accessible
and publicly funded childcare, shorter and/or flexible working hours,
maternity protection and paternity and parental leave in line with
international labor standards.
