Oasis and biodiversity
On a wonderful day, the second-grade students from Valle Scrivia primary school took part in an unforgettable outdoor learning experience, guided by their teachers and with the special participation of our Head Teacher.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Carabinieri Biodiversity Unit of Rome (Environmental Prevention and Protection Service), the children explored the Oasis of Castel Fusano, which became their very own secret garden for a day.
The students immersed themselves in the life of woodland animals, following an obstacle course that simulated the paths animals take through the forest. Along the scent trail, they learned to recognise the smells of different plants and their characteristics.
And what plant could be more fragrant than lavender? In a hands-on workshop, the children created lavender sachets, which they will gift to the international delegation of Erasmus students soon visiting our school! 🌱💜
