Mural for Nature and the Future – A Message of Love for the Environment from Liti Primary School
https://dim-litis.blogspot.com/2025/06/blog-post_81.html
As part of the European Erasmus+ project GROW 2025/2026, and under the guidance of the school’s art teacher, Mr Ioannis Stamenitis, pupils of Liti Primary School created a large mural in the school’s courtyard.
The mural’s theme focused on nature, the environment, and ecological awareness, placing love for the Earth and the need to protect it at its heart. The artwork stands as a visual tribute to the beauty of the natural world, combining shapes, colours, and symbols inspired by children’s ideas and creative workshops.
Pupils actively participated by contributing ideas, sketches, and suggestions that were incorporated into the final piece — forming a collective narrative of the kind of planet they want to live on: clean, green, and full of life.
Through this mural, the school sends out a powerful message: “Environmental protection begins with children’s education, awareness, and imagination.” In this way, artistic expression becomes a vehicle for environmental consciousness, supporting the core values of the GROW project — development, participation, ecological empathy, and international collaboration.
The mural has now become a point of pride for both the school and the community of Liti — a public artwork that reminds us every day that nature is our home, and love for the environment is a way of life.
