ISAGA2026参加に関する備忘録
30.1.2026
I’ve just secured my accommodation right next to the conference venue, KTH Royal Institute of Technology. I am truly looking forward to reconnecting with colleagues under the beautiful, never-ending twilight of the Stockholm midsummer.
While checking my route back to Arlanda Airport, I was delighted to find that a single SJ (Swedish Railways) train connects my station to the airport in just 36 minutes. This discovery brought back a vivid memory from 2005. During my research sabbatical in Germany, I took a night train from Berlin to Stockholm. Attached is a photo I took back then from the ferry deck; I still vividly remember the unique experience of the entire train being loaded onto a ferry to cross the Baltic Sea. Watching that breathtaking sunrise remains an unforgettable moment.
At that time, I was conducting interview-based fieldwork on environmental education within Swedish enterprises, including SJ as a prime example of their advanced social systems. As a researcher in pro-environmental behavior, I have long respected Sweden for its pioneering initiatives.
Reconnecting with this infrastructure—this time visiting in my capacity as the incoming ISAGA Chair for the following year—truly boosts my motivation. While preparing for this wonderful gathering in Sweden, I am already envisioning the momentum we will carry forward to ISAGA 2027 in Tokyo, where I will be welcoming you all as the General Chair.
Counting down the days until we meet in Stockholm!
