Abstract

With the Covid-19 pandemic still going strong, it is extremely important to stay safe and away from other people, but this will cause people to lose touch with each other. This is where smartphones come into play. In this day and age, almost everyone has a smartphone, in 2020, there are 3.6 billion smartphone users (Statista, 2021). The objective of this study is to show the importance of smartphones in these difficult times as well as what are the major institutes and companies that are helping with the development of smartphones in order to make them better every year. The Engineering Village site is used to showcase the data in the report. It allows the students to search for the topic of their choice and extract various information within a certain period of time. One of the most important results found, in light of this pandemic is that smartphones allow people to track patient diagnosis. This allows others to know the people who have been diagnosed must be avoided. This allows to save many from being infected. This study shows how smartphones are helping the world everyday as well as the main actors and contributors to the research of such technology.
