In this study, an analysis was performed to research the available information on Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID). Important research inquiries included: how widely RFID research papers are produced and what industries it covers. An investigation was carried out on the main patent applicants and how many were Canadian. The impact this topic has had on industries during the pandemic, and whether RFID can assist organizations to do better during the pandemic economically, are all important questions to be answered in this report. The purpose of this project is evaluating how businesses are affected by the pandemic, and if development in the RFID field can contribute to shrinking the gender employment inequality and pay gap. Utilizing industry-standard databases which provide information on keywords, publications, articles, companies, and patents; provided us with important statistics on the relevance of this topic in Canada.
