Abstract
The 2020 coronavirus pandemic took the whole world by surprise. It left people being more wary about touching public surfaces. The importance of digital contactless payments has risen exponentially due to this pandemic. Digital contactless payments work by sending a near-field communication (NFC) signal. NFC is a technology that can exchange data between devices just by interacting with frequencies. This report focuses on near-field communication, where it is being used all across the world and in which sectors it is mainly used.
