Abstract

One of the global challenges of 2020 is maintaining essential services and businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic. This report presents a summary of the state of Drones and Remotely operated vehicles research in Canada with special emphasis on Concordia University, industry leaders and the state of global study. The methods source from the Compendex and Inspec Engineering databases, patent libraries, and a study of the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes of the leading companies. The findings present historical data on Drones research including major funding sources and leading authors. Our research also shows the effect of the pandemic on related industries, and documents the shift in revenue over the course of the outbreak. The analysis offers new solutions for operating with regards to sterile environments and social distancing.
