Standard 8 - Collaborative Relationships – The competent teacher builds and maintains collaborative relationships to foster cognitive, linguistic, physical, and social and emotional development. This teacher works as a team member with professional colleagues, students, parents or guardians, and community members.
Collaboration and learning from one another is key to creating a uniform learning environment that helps students grow throughout their learning. Ensuring that we as teachers work as a team to develop and improve upon our curriculums. This allows teachers to be in tune with one another and helps students joining on the same path. Working as a community to build the best learning environment and growth for our students. Collaborations are key to good communication and positive learning spaces.
As educators we need to understand our lessons fully. We need to look into knowing our faults and where we need improvement, while finding tools that best help our students.
To be successful we have to identify when something is not working and adjust the behavior and or lesson. We can do this by committing to our lesson and committing to our students. We adjust and use tools to help our students grow the best they can.
It is also benefitital to seek guidance from peers and other teachers to help find an alternative approach to a lesson. When something seems to not be clicking it is helpful to seek guidance from team members. Our team members are their to guide us in the learning process and help us grow the best way we can while helping our students grow.
