Standard 4 - Learning Environment – The competent teacher structures a safe and healthy learning environment that facilitates cultural and linguistic responsiveness, emotional well-being, self-efficacy, positive social interaction, mutual respect, active engagement, academic risk-taking, self-motivation, and personal goal-setting.
Within my classrrom I have created an environment where all students have the ability to learn in the best way that meets their individual needs. Flexible seating encourages students to learn in a setting where they are comfortable and can be creative and motivated. Having various flexible seating options can encourage independence and growth as well as improve upon a students work ethic. It helps students remain a positive view on their learning environment.
Parent communication is key to success in the classroom. The more time we spend engaging our parents in what is going on the classroom the more they respect the work and communication with you. Keeping parents updated on all events upcoming as well as needs for the students is helpful.
Benefits to this app are that we have instant communication with parents if there is something that needs to shared promptly. This tool also allows for educators to see which parents have seen posts. This also allows for a continual communication log between individual parents and teachers.
Maintaining communication with parents is key to all students success in and out of the classroom, as well as a transparent look into the classroom.
