Exhibit 6

Flower Fate

Background:

I went into this design wanting to try the technique of brightening up the eyes and using the black and white adjustment layer. I also used the trick of using a circle and brightening up the background and blurring it to make her face the focal point. I love playing with black and white and adding my own color to it so that is what I did with this piece.

Revision:

I added more contrast with camera raw to make the image not as hazy and so it can stand out more. I added more dark and light adjustments to this image.

Design:

Contrast: The contrast is between the black and white and the pop of color in the lips and eyes of the face. There is also some contrast in the clarity of the photo. In the middle the picture is clear where the face is and then it blurs out.

Repetition: I repeated the act of changing the color of certain parts of the photo. I changed and brought out color in both the eyes and the lips.

Alignment: I aligned the photo in the middle so it was centered and you could clearly see the focal point of the face.

Proximity: The eyes and lips were close to each other and changed to color to show that there was a relation of the two. This relationship showed that they were both part of the focal point of the face and that is why they were in color and by each other.
