Day 3: Friday

Making a start on building the project in Unity.

  1. Setting up the UI assets for the stats, captions and journal.

  2. Organising the sizes of the character within the scene, based on preserving detail while providing enough of the environment in the camera size.

  3. Finalised basic mechanics for spirits on Level 1 (except Simon). Assitance from Dylan.

  4. Sourced temp sounds.

Import without scaling.
Emery can be scaled down, but rooms need to be made bigger to avoid loss of detail.
The larger image of Emery is the natural imported size, scaling down the sprite pixelates the image. This means the original png needs to be adjusted.
Ultimately going with this scale.

EOD - Mechanics implemented:

  • Health scoring system (further refined with help from Dylan).

  • Journal - Open/close and flip through pages.

  • Ghosts actions for Level 1- Nurse, Mila, and Frank and Bros (was refined with help from Dylan). This includes audio cues, health, appearing/disappearing, captions.

  • Player movement and animated walking.
