FABRIC MANIPULATION, SILHOUETTE EXPLORATION, HAND BEADING AND HAND EMBROIDERY
DRAPING
This gown was made using draping techniques. The bodice is a fully lined corset with boning channels, and a secondary pleated drape layer. Crystals, beads and embroidery applique was used for embellishments. The skirt was made using zero waste techniques, with gathering and hand sewn pleats along the hips to create flounces.
The chain accessories were made with the dress design in mind, mimicking the shape of butterfly wings as the inspiration for the gown was original a chrysalis.
