I've just finished my final year in Temasek Polytechnic studying Fashion Design. This section of my portfolio includes notable projects completed during the course of my studies.
IRRADIATED:
FINAL PROJECT BY ELISE
In this hypothetical post-nuclear winter landscape, this winter collection explores the aftermath of human conflict.
Through the lens of fashion as storytelling, this body of work examines the consequences of radiation on human, animal, and botanical life forms. Each couture piece becomes a form of performance art, embodying the physical and psychological scars left behind by warfare.
STUDIO PROJECT 2
ENFANT RICHES DÉPRIMÉS X WILLIAM GUILON
Tasked with creating a collaboration between a fashion brand and a non-fashion brand, this assignment challenged us to compare and select various brands strengths, weakness, and design language to create one cohesive and meaningful collection.
This collection touches on themes like government surveillance and control in the modern world.
DRAPING
This module challenged us to drape a fully lined gown with a bustier. The bustier has both bra cups and boning, and the skirt is draped using zero waste techniques. Embellishments include crystals, glass beads, embroidered applique and a chainmaille pendent.
All chainmaille shoulder accessories and earrings were also self made.
FASHION PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
FIREFLY PATH
This module required us to design a collection for a brand of our choice, and make 1 accessory from our rendered collection. This collection combines Firefly Paths fantasy aesthetic with a slightly harder edge, as found was missing from the brand within our market research.
CREATIVE TECHNIQUES IN TEXTILES
This module challenged me to make use of unconventional materials and textiles to create new and interesting shapes, textures and structures.
Inspired by both lolita fashion and French rococo gowns and oil paintings, (think marie antoinette), this project utilised and explored various materials, techniques and structures.
STUDIO PROJECT 1
CFIERCE X BAND BUNNIES
This collection was created with CFIERCE’s distinct design aesthetics as the forefront. I also prioritised having a multifunctional bag that is able to live different lives. CFIERCE consistently integrates punk aesthetics and animal faces into their collections, featuring “pierced” hats and hats with cat and bunny ears.
