In this project, we journey through the lives and work of groundbreaking mathematicians who have transcended abstract theory to solve real-world challenges.
From Archimedes to Zeno of Elea, these visionaries revolutionized our world. We will illuminate their ingenious methodologies and the societal impact of their discoveries.

It is time to embark on our mathematical ABCD journey. The aim is to create an interactive and collaborative encyclopedia of famous mathematicians which will be connected to the curriculum and be finished by May 2024. If you could be a famous mathematician who would you... choose one
The 1st ESO students will also collaborate in the 2nd ESO eTwinning project, Mathematical Pathways of Sustainable Goals, they work on the Sustainable Development Goals and integers. We, who are getting to know negative numbers this year, will help them with this project.

Théodore Olivier (1793–1853) was a notable French mathematician, primarily recognized for his work in descriptive geometry and the creation of three-dimensional string models. Educated at the École Polytechnique, he was influenced by Gaspard Monge, the inventor of descriptive geometry. Olivier co-founded the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in 1829, where he taught geometry and mechanics. His innovative models, which demonstrated geometric principles and intersections of surfaces, were widely used in educational institutions in France and the United States, including the United States Military Academy at West Point and Harvard University.
