Bruker 600 Scheduling Rules

SCHEDULING RULES: The Bruker 600 Scheduling Rules are NOT under automatic enforcement by the scheduler but the schedule is checked daily and if there is a violation, the offending time-slot will be deleted and the user notified.

• BRUKER 600 Scheduling Rule #1: MONDAYS and TUESDAYS from 10am-5pm are restricted to slots of no more than 3 HOURS per user per day. An hour before your slot ends, you may add up to another hour to your slot if there is time available (this can be repeated as many times as needed). MONDAYS and TUESDAYS overnight from 5pm-10am are available for sign-up as a complete block but users must wait for their run to START before booking another overnight slot.

• BRUKER 600 Scheduling Rule #2: WEDNESDAYS starting at 12noon are restricted to runs that will end by Thursday, 10am. Wednesday overnight users must wait for their run to START before booking another overnight slot.

• BRUKER 600 Scheduling Rule #3: THURSDAY, 10am until MONDAY, 10am have no time restrictions and is PRIORITIZED FOR EXTENDED RUNS OF 2 OR MORE DAYS. If you sign-up for an extended slot - you must wait for the run to START before booking another extended/overnight slot. If you need time between Thursday and Monday that is less than an extended run: you must wait until the 3pm the day prior to sign-up for any time (for example, to use a block of time on Thursday or on Friday, you will need to wait until Wednesday at 3pm or Thursday at 3pm, respectively, to sign-up for time).

• BRUKER 600 Scheduling Rule #4: Please REFRAIN FROM BOOKING TIME THAT ENDS ON FRIDAY AFTER 3pm so next user has time to set-up a weekend run. Also, BOOKING OF LESS THAN A FULL WEEKEND is only permitted if no one has booked the weekend AS OF FRIDAY AT 10am.

• BRUKER 600 Scheduling Rule #5: Scheduling restrictions are lifted during official school holidays - users may book any time they need during those days on a "first come, first served" basis.

If you need an exception to these rules for an experiment, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs depending on user demand for the instrument.

NOTE: IF YOU SIGN-UP FOR A SLOT BUT DO NOT USE IT AND DO NOT CANCEL IT, YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE FULL TIME THAT YOU RESERVED. PLEASE CONTACT THE FACILITY MANAGER IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO USE A SLOT AND ARE UNABLE TO CANCEL IT FROM THE SCHEDULE.
