The Emerson Encoders participated in the regional tournament. The Encoders placed 7th out of 32 teams and will be advancing to the championships in Chattanooga, TN on February 10, 2024.
All students in grades 3-5 were given information about the Student Technology Competition. Students were given the opportunity to join a Schoology group run by Robin Morrow to receive information, signup for the competition, and to ask questions. Emerson had two 5th graders and six 4th graders sign up and participate. Emerson brought home three awards: 2nd place Game Design, 2nd place Animation, and 3rd place Multimedia Presentation.
It was an exciting event for the Emerson Encoders! The team displayed excellent teamwork. Emerson Encoders earned the 1st place Rising Star award!
Armed with a new team name, the Emerson Encoders participated in the Region Qualifying Tournament on December 11, 2022. With only two returning members, the Emerson Encoders placed 11 out of 26 teams.
Students competed in the FLL Robotics Competition in the spring of 2022. The Eaglebots team was comprised of only one returning member. The team placed 3rd in Core Values.
In the Fall of 2020, Emerson established its first Lego Robotics team, The Eaglebots. Fourth and fifth grade students competed March 5, 2021 in the 2021 FIRST LEGO LEAGUE Challenge Virtual Robotics Tournament. The Eaglebots placed 1st in the Innovation Project category and received 2nd place Grand Champion.
