These topics are prevalent through all planned activities and clearly visible in the planned outputs (intellectual outputs) and activities planned to ensure sustainability and impact of results on the defined target groups of the project (teachers, pupils, participating schools and the community they work in). We have designed the project in such a way that it will build on validated methodologies to be transferred and tested with the new target audience.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
To strengthen democratic culture education within pre-and primary schools in the Czech Republic and Iceland;
To develop competencies for democratic culture among pupils in preschools and primary schools;
To integrate democratic principles in the participating school's culture and to further incorporate the involvement of pupils in decision-making and foster autonomy.
KEY DELIVERABLES. We foresee the creation of the following outputs:
A Handbook for Teachers on democratic culture learning, inclusive of activities, lesson plans and guidance notes, on how to foster democratic culture competencies among pupils. The Handbook will use as basis Rjúpnahaed ́s unique methodology of learning in a democratic way.
Piloting of Rjúpnahaed ́s methodology in years 0-2 in primary school Chýně (2 pilot phases). The piloting includes pre-and post-assessments among teachers and pupils, ongoing review workshops and the development of a training course for teachers involved in the implementation.
Guidelines for facilitating Pupils' Parliament for teachers on how to effectively foster pupils' parliaments.
