          “Presentation of the Victoria Cross at Fort Napier on Friday 16th January 1880 to Edmund O'Toole of the Frontier Light Horse”

“Edmund O'Toole is the fourth son of the late Charles O'Toole of Wilfort, Bray.

(He joined the Zulu War as a volunteer) and brother of Luke O'Toole, of the firm of Toole and Company, Seed Merchants, 22 D'Olier Street.” 

                    

Edmund O'Toole was presented with his VC by General Clifford, who has been sent a letter by Sir Garnet Wolseley.

For saving the life of Sergeant Fitzmaurice of the 1st Battalion of the 24th Mounted Infantry.
