Banquet 25-26:

Thank  you to everyone who attended the End of the Season Banquet on Tuesday, Feb. 24th! It was a wonderful event. Thank you to The Anderson Family for donating the catering service! The food was AMAZING!  Thank you to the Captains and the Captains’ Parents for their work on making the banquet a success! Thanks to everyone who donated beverages or desserts. We had quite a selection.

The State Meet was held on 12, 2026 At Giant’s Ridge in Biwabik, MN

Here are the Results:  

Everett O. 9th in State!  

5K Skate: 14:13.5 (13), 5K Classic 14:18.0 (9)   

Overall 28:30.8  (9th Place!) 

Helen C.  11th in State! 

5K Skate: 16:51: 1 (20), 5K Classic 17:03.1 (14th)

Overall: 33:53.4 (11th Place!)

What’s Next?: 

Need to turn in your race suit or rental/borrowed gear? Make arrangements with Head Coach Mark, bring it to the Nordic Banquet, or make arrangements to personally drop it off with Steve Tschida. Do not leave any EHS equipment in the halls expecting it to be checked in. You are responsible for all EHS gear until it is checked in and are financially responsible for it. Race suits are $200.00.

The Minnesota State High School League Requires we collect all school issued race suits and rental gear or borrowed gear!

February 2-6, 2026 (and beyond!)

Monday Feb. 2: 

We will hold a meeting with the Conference Championship Team Skiers and the Section 2 Skiers. We will Meet at 3:20PM in/near the  Wax Room. We will have a recap of the Conference Championship Meet and have a PRE RACE Meeting for the Section Team. 

Then Section skiers can wax and prep.

If you are on this roster you are expected to race in this IMPORTANT RACE! Confirm with Coach Mark a YES or No by Saturday, 1/31 at noon. We will have to reach out to other skiers if you are unable to race. 

High School Practice: 3:40-5:30PM  at EHS: Workout: Coach Sara will lead the High School Practice  Skate Skis and on snow! This will be our LAST OFFICIAL on snow practice. 

Middle School Practice: 4:30-5:30 PM  at EHS: Workout: TBD: Coach Thomas, Coach Michelle, and Coach Krystyna will lead this last OFFICIAL Practice. On Snow!

New Treasurer Needed: We are looking for a parent volunteer to fill our Edina Nordic Booster Club Treasurer Position. Erik Hinkie has served as our treasurer for 5 Years! Thank YOU ERIK! This would be a 2 year commitment. Duties include handling our Edina Nordic Booster Account, handling reimbursements to parents and coaches, paying team bills with checks (from an Edina Nordic Account,) collecting and keeping track of Team dues and rental fees paid, etc.  Let Head Coach Mark Or Erik Hinkie know if you are interested.

*Forecasted windchills are expected to be -30. MSHSL says we can hold practices up to -40 windchill, but that’s just crazy! Coach Mark will be there, but he may just ski round and round on Star loop. Cars, lungs, and skin have a tough time in these temps., so use your best judgement and stay home, sleep in and be ready to wax on Tuesday and race on Weds. If you are on the roster you are expected to race, if not and you want to race, see the sign up below. It closes tomorrow night! 

No need to sign up. We have enough slots for HS skiers.! 

No Middle School Coaches were available, so it is High School.

Bring your 3 Rivers Pass or purchase a daily one online or at the Visitor’s Center. Meet your coaches at Jan’s Place. Be ready to ski at 8:00AM!! If you are late, it is your job to find the team and learn the plan for the session.

Looking at Dec. 15-19th, 2025

New Race Sign up Procedure: 

 We said at the PAC meeting that we’d try a different method this year for race sign ups. “Everyone Second Year and Beyond would be signed up to race.” 

We tried a “Posted Roster” for our last race without need for sign ups, but it did not work! 

We are moving forward with a hybrid system. We will post a roster and then offer additional race spots/opportunities for those that sign up and meet the criteria. 

CLASSIC Race for Wednesday, December 17th Ski Meet at Elm Creek Park:

THIS IS A CLASSIC RACE ONLY!!!    (NO SKATE RACE DIVISION!)

This is a 5K Classic race from the machine made snow loop out to the beach by using the Northern Lights loop (natural snow) and back. No cut offs! Wayzata is the host. 

Head Coach Mark creates the final roster!

Classic Race Roster Dec. 17th** Please check to see if your name is on the list!

 If you are on the roster, you are good to go. 

If you have an * by your name, you need to check in with Head Coach Mark, but you will be included on the race list. 

If you are not on the Dec. 17th Classic Race Roster, but  believe you are capable of skiing a 5K CLASSIC race AND have your own equipment fill out this Sign up Form. 

Head Coach Mark will determine if you are placed on the roster. We have 20 additional spots for skiers to sign up to race.

*Valley View Skiers: Make your way indoors or outdoors to Door 6 Captains/Coach will be there to guide you to the Athletic Atrium/Activity Center. 

*SouthView Skiers: The Activity Bus will pick you up at SV at Door 4. It will take you to EHS Door 6 where a Captain/Coach will meet you and take you to the Athletic Atrium.

Scholarship Options

Students in need of financial support should fill out a Fee Waiver Form. This form, along with the Registration Form, Travel Waiver and MSHSL Eligibility Brochure, must be dropped off at the activities office. *Download PDF to view as a fillable form.

If you have additional scholarship needs, fill out the Edina Give and Go Scholarship Application Form. Edina Give and Go is a school district non-profit partner focused on providing financial support to ensure that all students can participate in activities. Remember that Nordic is an outdoor sport! Dress appropriately!  Watch the weather forecast and think layers so you can adjust as you get too hot or cold!
