21st Century Learning: Internet for Inquiry II
Weekly Overview
This week continues a three-week adventure into the world of Internet for Inquiry – in what ways can we harness the World Wide Web for the benefits of student learning through PBL inquiry projects? Considering our frameworks, we start with the TPACK overlapping areas of knowledge (Content -> Pedagogy -> Technology). Content is where we look for the questions and issues worth investigation for student learning, from within this we identify emergent pedagogy for students to obtain the knowledge that is valuable (what we teach will tell us how best to teach it if we listen), before we look at potential technology for Engagement, Enhancement and Extension (utilizing SAMR to move your technology and pedagogy beyond).
The focus of this week is building our planned PBL WebQuest that combines the WebQuest Scaffold with an Inquiry Model for student learning. You are provided with the tools and information to complete this task on this page below.
Additionally, you are asked to complete your own quest this week - Operation Watershed. You consider and select a current issue of importance to modern education. What do you find most pressing from the provided concepts?
Learning Objectives
After the successful completion of this module, students will:
Complete and submit a PBL WebQuest
Explore current issues in educational technology.
Design and create a PowerPoint for a selected audience to make an evidenced based claim about a selected issue.
