Assessing Learning Tools for Meaningful Learning
Weekly Overview
This week takes a step forward from thinking about technology in general through TPACK and SAMR into a sharper focus on how we can look at specific tools for analysis, using the TRIPLE E framework. While integration is important, what we use has to be able to provide the experience we are looking to create for students based on our knowledge of content, and pedagogical approach. Are we looking to engage, enhance, or extend? There are a plethora of web-based learning tools available, but deciding which is worthwhile of our time and effort requires deep consideration - so lets dive in!
Begin to consider both general and content specific digital tools that exist and relate to your philosophical view of the classroom - what have others used for similar purposes? What have you observed, or heard about that may be worth a deeper investment of time and energy?
The reading this week provides the foundation for our simulated experience in our second Skill Development Project- TEWLS Inc. That begins this week.
