Artificial Intelligence as it exists and continues to develop has potential for both affordances and constraints -depending on your point of view and willingness to play and learn. Regardless, students are using - and will continue to use- AI to complete work, so teachers must begin to adapt and evolve and perhaps reconceptualize what it is they see as Education.
Below is a collection of tools curated for educators to use in the pursuit of teaching and learning for authentic and meaningful purposes - built on a need to shift how we think about teaching and learning at the heart of education, and what the ultimate purpose of education is. Disruptions in education are not new - Calculator, VCR, Computer, Laptop, Cellphone - any civilization that continues to evolve will create and use new tools to do so. To that end, there are a few thoughts to consider up front:
POLICY: What is the AI policy for your course- be sure to be clear. It is encouraged to have students leverage AI in useful ways, as opposed to an outright ban.
USE: Be cognizant of your assessments - if they can be done by AI are they still authentic and relevant? What is the skill or content you are looking to assess, and be sure you are assessing the content or skill, and not the expectation of a particular submitted task, i.e. write a paper, make a presentation, answer a prompt, take a test, etc.

PROMPTS: The importance of a well written, scaffolded and curated prompt cannot be undersold. Please consider this base idea when prompting any AI:
CONTEXT/ROLE - Who should AI be and where are they existing
TASK PARAMETERS - Be Clear - Blooms Taxonomy is a good place to start for "task verbs"
FORMAT: What is it you want AI to give you and how is it arranged?
VOICE/AUDIENCE: What is language/narrative/format for the task and who is it for? What level?
SOUNDING BOARD/THINKING PARTNER - Much like Dr. House, AI can be your team to get ideas from in order for you to maintain your brilliance. Consider how you prompt for the role of TEACHER (or any role) and think about how it could be used in not only planning, but feedback and interactions:
GOAL - have a goal in mind and set, the ultimate outcome
INTERACTION TYPE - are they a peer, an expert, or a student? What is your relationship parameter here? How should the process unfold?
