📡 Something New for 2025: We Went Live!

For the first time, the East Central Indiana Hamfest was live-streamed on YouTube during the event on Saturday, July 26. It didn’t go quite as planned, but we had a few dedicated viewers who stuck with us through nearly six hours of streaming!

The initial stream crashed a little over three hours in and couldn’t be restored. In fact, it had already glitched a couple of times before that—but we managed to resume each time from where it left off. The final crash wiped the stream from OBS (our free streaming/production software), so we launched a Part 2, which carried us through the rest of the day.

Camera control was minimal, and what was meant to look smooth and professional turned out a bit chaotic and jerky. Still, we learned a lot. The IT team (mostly a team of one, with some much-needed moral support and troubleshooting help—thanks Thomas and everyone else!) is already working on improvements for next time.
