DSC Welcome Party
Thurs, Oct 12th 4:30-6pm behind Guthrie Hall (or lobby if it rains)
Come learn more about the DSC, how to get involved, and meet the folks that have been working so hard to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the department. We will be in the courtyard just behind Guthrie Hall with food and drinks!
Intro to Universal Design for Learning Workshop
Thurs, Oct 19th 12:30-1:30pm in Kincaid 301. Lunch provided. Open to all instructors.
This is a two-part workshop facilitated by Mary-Colleen Jenkins, UW-IT Accessibility Specialist. Members of the DSC Championing Inclusive Pedagogy (CHIPS) team (formerly syllabus team) will also be present to help out! The first part of the workshop will be an introduction to UDL concepts. The second part will be an opportunity to discuss and implement UDL strategies in your course(s).
BIPOC Student Happy Hour

Casual social open to BIPOC grad students, postdocs, and lab staff. Fremont Brewing has an outdoor covered patio and is family- and dog-friendly!
