Earlier this summer, students of the Psychology Department voted for the 2024-2026 DSC graduate student co-chairs. Voting closed on Tuesday, May 21. Among the four nominees, two emerged as the new co-chairs: Ariel Li and Carol Lu!
Ariel leads the DSC blog where Carol is an editor; Carol also on the virtual recruitment team. Read more about them here.

What is a graduate student co-chair and how are they elected? The graduate student co-chairs play an important role in facilitating the different teams of the Diversity Steering Committee (read more about these teams here). The co-chairs are elected once every two years, and each co-chair will serve two-year terms while they are on the team. These co-chairs are first nominated by peers. All graduate students as well as DSC members are given a week to vote by ranking the top two (or three, depending on how many co-chairs needs to be elected in a given year) choices.
Ariel is a 4th year PhD student in Cognition and Perception.
Carol is a 3rd year PhD student in the Developmental area.
This will be Ariel and Carol's 5th quarter working with the DSC. They are both looking forward for the exciting new (and old) projects from the DSC!
