Joe Biden fought tooth and nail as he proceeded with his nationwide campaign, which handed him the American presidency in dramatic fashion. Many experts in the medical field like Dr. Matthew Boente MD are elated with the win of president-elect Biden, because of the healthcare system that he has laid out for the next four years.

The main focus of the Biden plan is a public option for people seeking individual coverage on the ACA exchanges, similar to Medicare. What is most notable about this aspect of Biden’s plan is that it would be offered as an alternative to private insurance, rather than as a replacement.

It is expected that this public option would spur a sense of competition amongst private insurers to keep their prices low by using preferred provider networks and other cost-saving strategies. Whatever savings is made from this can be allotted to other peripheral features like dental and vision coverage, shares Dr. Matthew Boente, MD.

The Biden plan also seeks to subsidize premiums for insurance purchased on ACA exchanges. Rather than calculating on the basis of a silver plan, these would be calculated on a gold plan. Under a Biden leadership, the necessary adjustments would be made so that families would not need to shell out more than 8.5 percent of their income on premium

Biden’s plan is clear and commonsensical, because it aims to create a healthier America by keeping the prices for healthcare low enough for everyone to afford.
