Gen Chem 2 Module 1 Module 2 Module 3 Module 4 Module 5 Module 6 Module 7
Orientation Activities are due on the first Wednesday of the course.
Barton Community College will be supplying a kit of materials to all registered students of Barton Chemistry courses after the lab fee has been paid. Verify your address with the lab kit coordinator (LKC@bartonccc.edu). If you have missing items or questions about the kit, contact the lab kit coordinator.
For Other schools: Your labs will be virtual labs. See your course email or the assignment in your classroom for instructions.
The course officially uses the OpenStax: Chemistry - Atoms First book. This is provided in the classroom.
OPTIONAL: If you already have a 2 semester General Chemistry book, the material is valid and will help you in our course. If you would like to purchase one, get Burdge & Overby's Chemistry: Atoms First. An old copy is just as good as a new one. The course was originally built on the 2nd edition. You may get started learning the material as soon as you are ready. The sooner you begin, the more success you will have in this course.
Hints for success:
To be successful in this class, work constantly and consistently. In the 6 week term, weeks 4 & 6 are packed full of assignments and material. Work early in the course to pad time for those very busy weeks.
Make a notes sheet for each Module of equations, constants, helpful things for each quiz. You may use this sheet on the quiz. Having one of these for each module makes studying for the final exam very efficient.
Due Dates are listed within your classroom. BCC Only: There is extra credit every week in the form of turning in your labs early. That date is identified on the course calendar and is always a date prior to the module due date. For example with the compressed sessions, if Module 1 is due on Sunday, July 8 and you turn in your completed lab 1 by Thursday, July 5 you will be eligible for 2 extra credit points. (This is only an example of dates and timing. You will be bound by the dates in your classroom.) Lab extra credit is not extended for ANY reason. Orientation activities are due the first Wednesday of the class.
There are discussion posts due on THURSDAYS of the weeks with required discussions.
