Kitsune, or fox folk, are vulpine shapeshifters known for their love of both trickery and art. Kitsune possess three forms: that of an attractive human of slender build with salient eyes, and their true form of an anthropomorphic fox and an in-between state that they only use when they have no need to hide their true origins.
Despite an irrepressible penchant for deception, kitsune prize loyalty and make true companions. They delight in the arts, particularly riddles and storytelling, and settle in ancestral clans, taking their wisdom from both the living and spirits.
Quick-witted and nimble, kitsune make excellent bards and rogues. It is not uncommon for one to pursue sorcery, while those few born with white fur and pale eyes usually become oracles.
Society: Kitsune society is enigmatic, as kitsune prize loyalty among their friends but delight in good-natured mischief and trickery. Kitsune take pleasure in the pursuit of creative arts and in all forms of competition, especially the telling of stories interwoven with tall tales and falsehoods.
Relations: Kitsune deal well with elves and samsarans, but their reputation as tricksters follows them when they interact with other races. Many kitsune, particularly those who dwell in mixed-race societies, choose to hide their true natures and pose as humans in public.
Alignment and Religion: Kitsune tend to be neutral, or of alignments with a neutral component. Most kitsune worship the goddess of craftsmanship.
Adventurers: Keenly interested in adding their own names to the myths and legends of explorers and heroes of old, Kitsune adventurers range across the world.

Thunderkin are a unstable mutation and usually did not survive birthing. Recent genetic technologies have been able to correct this problem and the clan has slowly started to form in recent years. Their dependence on technology forces them to stay in areas of high urban development.
Thunderkin fur tends to be ranging from pale lavenders to vivid purple hues. Though occasionally they can be so pale or so dark they can be mistaken as voidkin.
Some kitsune hear the call of the forest on a level unrivaled by their peers. Their furs turn to one of the many shades of green of the forest. Proof that Sylanna has bestowed something wonderful upon them.
Kitsune Adapt to Environs through magic. The twilight of night is no different and those born under the sign of the shadow overtime have a connection that eventually passed on through genetics and traditions. Moonkin fur tends to be silver though it can be slightly tinted pink or blue, hinting at red and blue moons.
Voidkin possess a unique place among the different kitsune subraces, for voidkin are considered either blessed or cursed. A voidkin's traits are identical to any one of the other four types of kitsune detailed here except for one detail–the color of their fur. Voidkin possess either snowy white or shadowy fur. In the past their culture viewed such things as either a divine blessing in the case of the white or a spiritual uncleanliness or taint in the case of the black furred Voidkin though in recent years it has been tied to natural affinity with magic and the dragon gods who oversee the primal elements.
White voidkin are tied to Asha's Aspect of birth, creation and beginnings.
Heritage Focus: A voidkin kitsune gains Skill Focus as a bonus feat at 1st level. In addition, the chosen skill is always a class skill for the voidkin.
