The Xiati may carry on conversations using the S-comms without raising her voice above a whisper; Listen checks made to hear the Xiati suffer a –4 penalty. The tiny speaker implanted in the Xiati’s ear enables her to hear the other side of the conversation, but others cannot, while the primary function of this implant is comms, it also transmits Adaptation Protocols to other Xiati. (see Engineered adaptation)
Type: Internal: Implant / External: Antennae Hardness/Hit Points: –/2.
Adapted from Borg technology these nanites perform repairs on technological and Biological Xiati components, granting them Fast healing 1. These nanites are also capable of interfacing with borg technology and halting the assimilation process indefinitely, allowing xiati to add borg technology to themselves without fear of being linked to the collective, a captured Xiati can still be forcefully assimilated, or manually assimilated as the collective referred to it as.
This Rebreather is used to filter out air toxins from the Xiati homeworld, it does not provide oxygren, just filters out polutants and any airborne poisons. The Xiati are so used to using them they rarely remove them, and a dirty or damaged Rebreather is looked on poorly by other Xiati.
+4 bonus against toxins/poisons etc that are transfered through the air.
A new Rebreather costs approximately 2,000 credits (500 on a Xiati planet or vessel)
The Xiati, like the collective they stole the technology from are able to adapt their shielding to new attacks, rendering them ineffective.
Whenever they receive damage, roll 1d20. On a roll of 20, the Xiati (as a society) will have now adapted to that attack and will no longer suffer damage from it, every time a Xiati is struck by the same damage type, the threat range to adapt increased by +1 to a maximum of 10-20, Xiati can be resistant to 1 thing at a time per tier of Adaptive shielding the Xiati possesses.
The attack is a specific type (e.g. phasers, or disruptors). This does not apply to normal physical damage of the piercing, slashing, and bludgeoning type, but it does apply to Chakra attacks as a elemental whole, in other words the Xiati CAN and WILL adapt to excessive use of electrical or fire chakra for example, using non chakra elements against them does not trigger activation(throwing magical fire could cause adaption but locking them in a room with non-magical fire would not.
It is possible to reset this resistance to a specific attack by spending a 5 control points(if a ability) and/or a full round action (if ability or device) in which case the attacker will "cycle the frequencies" or something similar.
While not nearly effective as the borg's hivemind the Xiati have the ability to request and recieve information from their society, as a result they are incredibly knowledgeable about various things, and while normally temporal mechanics would be beyond them, they store this data in the Xianet.
Xiati treat all standard knowledge skills as class skills.
They gain a +2 racial modifier on knowledge skills.
Additionally Forbidden knowledge: Temporal is eligible for this effect,
but the Xiati still take Sanity penalties for each rank in Forbidden Knowledge: Temporal.
Free Item: Xiati Rebreather <0 RP> (hybrids do not get one for free)
Subcutaneous Interplexing Communications Implant <1 RP> <linked> Reverse Engineered Adapation - Tier 1 <4 RP>
Reverse Engineered Body Armor: 3 RP
Xiati Adapted Regeneration Nanites: 6 RP
Xianet: 8 RP [Shards of the past: advanced]
Note: Subcutaneous interplexing communications implant, Reverse engineered adaptation, reverse engineered body armor and Regeneration nanites do not use Implant slots.
Development note: Xiati Plasma beam weapons would be the combination of Na'kul and Borg Plasma technologies[procs]
