As a product of cultural exchanges along the Silk Road, blue and white porcelain has established a “friendship” bond that has lasted from ancient times to the present. Because of this bond, Iznik blue and white porcelain and Jingdezhen blue and white porcelain are like siblings living in two different regions. In the 15th century, the Turks imitated the “Lotus” pattern on Chinese blue and white porcelain and designed their own “Hatayi” pattern, which today , students of traditional Turkish tile and ceramic design begin their education by learning the history of “Hatayi’ and Lotus”, which is why in Turkey we often hear about Jingdezhen. T his work is blue and white porcelain, with a “Lotus and Hatayi” pattern on it. Combining the Turkish-style lotus and the lotus pattern used in Chinese blue and white porcelain to connect the two cultures, and on a traditional Turkish tear bottle-inspired porcelain vase. Besides “Lotus and Hatayi” there are also, Turkish and Chinese-style auspicious clouds in the top and middle of the bottle. Using the unique patterns of the two countries is an aim to symbolize the friendship between the two countries.
