Once you've completed your induction and booked a laser cutter on Connect2, follow the below instructions to cut/engrave your piece.
Log in to the PC next to the laser cutter you've booked, and open CorelDraw Graphics Suite 2021 via AppsAnywhere.
2. Open Job Control via the desktop of the PC you're on.
3. Switch on the Laser Cutter and allow it to do it's homing checks (it'll lower the cutting bed and move the laser to the top left). Wait for the beep to let you know the machine is ready.
4. Load your material into the laser cutter, and focus the laser with the orange/blue tool.
5. Open your file in CorelDraw (or draw it from scratch).
6. Set cut lines to red and hairline thickness, and any engrave lines/areas to >0.25mm thickess and black.
7. Go to File > Print > Print settings. Select your material- and input the material size as the page size.
8. Select Job Control and hit print.
9. In Job Control, select your job from the right hand side. If there are multiple in the list, the newest job will come through at the bottom of the list.
10. Double click the job, or drag it into the print area. Click the eye to view the job.
11. Double check your material thickness and add it here.
12. Click connect, which will connect the laser cutter to JobControl.
13. Turn on the extraction using the green button.
14. You can move the position of the laser and it will show where it is on Job Control. Then you can snap your job to the laser to start it in a specific area of your material (good for if you're using scrap pieces).
15. Make sure the lid of the laser is closed, and hit play on Job Control.
16. Stay with your job until it has finished cutting. Do not leave the machine unattended whilst in operation.
17. Once the machine beeps, your job is finished and you can take it out of the machine.
