Laser Cutting Induction

Fire - The material being cut or engraved can catch fire - make sure the LEV extraction is switched on before using to remove fumes and smoke.  

Noise -  If multiple lasers are being used at once it can be quite loud in the room - ear plugs are available in the area.

Burns - Materials can get hot after being cut or engraved - allow extra time for cooling before taking your material from the laser cutter.

Entrapment - Laser head and platforms move about, causing potential for hands/hair/clothes/jewellery to get caught in the machine - the laser will stop operating if the lid is open. Laser cutters are equipped with emergency stop buttons that are easily accessible.  

Slips and Trips - Please keep the area clean and tidy, especially if you drop material on the floor as this causes a slip hazard.
