Episode 8: The Role and Impact of EdTech in Class
Jenna Slacum is a 4th grade teacher at Laurel Elementary School in Delaware. This is her 5-year teaching math and science. She started teaching during COVID-19 when every school was involved in virtual learning. This allowed her to use multiple technology tools in the classroom to engage in learning. Currently, schools are back to in-person and she still implements technology in her classroom. Technology tools are used as review games, extension or remediation activities, during center times, and implemented into the curriculum. Some tools that are used in her classroom weekly are Google Suite, Kahoot, Booklet, Zearn, Learn Zillion, and Amplify. Due to her enjoyment of technology and teaching, she started her Master's in Education Technology. She currently has two more classes to finish her degree. When she does have free time, she enjoys being by the water, whether it's at the beach, lake, or pool. She also enjoys crafting and reading.
