Stressors - planning - counselling - work/life balance
With this questionnaire, the adult learner can get an insight in how much 'weight' or stressors are present in his or her life. This tool can help him or her decide if he is able to take on a course or education, and if he needs support or counselling during the course.
Step 1 The student fills out the questionnaire. For each aspect of his life (e.g. work, study...) the student needs to decide how much it weighs or how heavy it is for him. There are three options: a feather (not heavy at all), a grocery bag (somewhat heavy) and a metal weight (very heavy).
Step 2 Discuss the answers. Possible questions are:
Are there a lot of aspects in your life that weigh heavy on you? If so, it might not be bearable to add something extra to your life (e.g. new courses) the way it is right now. What could you change in order to make more room for your new activities?
Decide together with your student counsellor what your goal will be. Are you able to enrol for courses full time? Or would it be better for you to enrol part time?
