A slideshow from one of the seminars I attended.
The personal and professional development seminars were most likely my favorite part of the Summer Bridge Program overall. It gave us very helpful and very useful strategies and techniques to help give us a better overall experience when we started back school after the summer. The instructors taught us things like how to manage our time, how to reduce burnouts while we're working, how to create and spread our resume's, among many other skills. Much of the advice that was given to me from these seminars is actually being put into practice during my classes.Â
Prior to learning these methods, I found that a lot of the time I didn't have the motivation to do my assignments, leading to me procrastinating on them. Although most of the time, I was able to turn them in on time at the last minute, this habit led to me sometimes turning in my assignments late. However, using the strategies that I learned from those seminars, I've been doing my assignments in a much better time frame, allowing for less stress, and more motivation to continue working.
