The 'Make It Stick' book.
'Make It Stick' was a book that we read during our time at the program. It went over many different learning methods, however, the main two that stuck with me were: spaced practice, and self-testing.
Spaced Practice: This is when you space out your learning, rather than trying to cram it all into one study session. For instance, you can do 20 mins across 3 days, rather than one hour straight for one day. I will be using this method for my classes, as it not only allows me to retain information at a better rate, but it also gives me more free time, and helps reduce burnouts.
Self-Testing: This is when after you're done reading whatever it is you're learning about, you go back over and test yourself on what you've learned. I'll most likely try to either look up or create Quizlets to help better prepare myself for my classes.
