Our NSCI 100 professor, Dr. Akbay, giving a lecture.
The Calculations in Sciences Course, NSCI 100, was another one of the courses I took during my time in the Summer Bridge Program. It is a precursor to the higher-level chemistry course, as it goes over many of the topics that you would find in that chem course. We learned how to convert units, classify metals, memorize elements on periodic table, and many other useful skills that will ultimately assist us when we go into our chemistry class.
I'm glad I was able to take this course, as it was a good middle ground between high school chemistry, and university level chemistry. I was able to get a good refresher, while also learning newer and more complex concepts that I hadn't learned in high school. This start will also assist me in the pursuit of my career as an anesthesiologist, giving me a strong base to continue expanding on.
