Hitoshi is a founding partner of two Myanmar-focused investment funds, UMJ Ikeya Investment, a growth stage VC; and Emerging Markets Entrepreneurs - Myanmar (EME), a permanent capital vehicle which invests in seed and early-stage startups. His previous experience include more than ten years working for leading investment banks, including most recently Goldman Sachs.

Hitoshi serves on the boards of some of Myanmar’s most exciting and successful enterprises, in sectors including AI, consumer internet, online classified ads, and consumer finance. As Investment Director for EME, he leads deal execution and supports young founders to realize their potential. Since its launch last year, EME has invested in six companies across a range of sectors - all focussed on growing consumer markets.

In addition to his lead investment position, Hitoshi advises several Japanese MNEs on their Southeast Asia operations.
