Nicole Erbe, born in Ludwigshafen, first completed a dance education at the New York City Dance School in Stuttgart and studied architecture at the FH Aachen and the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. This was followed by training as a theatre teacher. She gained her first artistic theatre experience at the "Junge Theater Basel" and the "Vorstadttheater Basel" as well as through further training as a director with Marcelo Diaz in Madrid and Zurich.
Since 2003 she has been working as a director, mainly in the border triangle between Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, often in unusual locations and in new constellations, often multilingual. As a cross-over artist with a biography of career changers, she works in various genres such as dance, architecture, opera and contemporary puppetry. From 2014-2019 she worked as a director at the Rheinisches Landestheater Neuss.
She is particularly interested in overlaps between the fields of acting, video art, documentary and puppet theatre. Current productions: Krähe und Bär / Hans Otto Theater Potsdam.
