BETA VERSION (Missing links, photos, and information may occur)
Movement in Eden follows standard MMO controls:
W – Move forward
A – Strafe left
S – Move backward
D – Strafe right
Right-click and hold – Move the camera (also turns your character left and right)
All keyboard settings can be customized by pressing the keyboard button on the command bar or typing /keyboard in the chat box. Adjust controls to your preference for a smoother experience.
Once you’re comfortable moving around, your next step is to find NPCs with a floating DAoC logo above their heads—this indicates they have a quest for you.
The first NPC you see will usually provide a beginner’s quest that teaches basic gameplay mechanics.
To view your current quests, open your journal by typing /journal or pressing the designated hotkey (check your keyboard settings to see which key is bound to open your journal).
Completing quests is one of the best ways to gain experience and rewards early in the game.
If you ever feel lost, your map is your best tool for navigation.
Press M or type /map to open the map.
Your player icon will move as you do, helping you track your location.
The appearance of your location icon may vary depending on your UI settings, so take a moment to familiarize yourself with the map layout.
As you complete quests and defeat monsters, you’ll gain experience and eventually level up.
When you level up, you need to train your skills to unlock new abilities:
Find your class trainer (NPCs with "[Your Class] Trainer" under their name).
Right-click on the trainer to open the training menu and spend your skill points.
Training your skills regularly ensures you remain powerful and prepared for tougher battles.
Your character starts with basic equipment, usually a weapon (and sometimes a shield). These will get you through your first fights but should be upgraded soon.
Monsters drop weapons, armor, and jewelry as you hunt and complete quests.
Open your inventory by pressing ‘I’. This opens your Paper Doll (a character model) and inventory slots.
To equip an item, click its icon and drag it to the appropriate slot on your character sheet.
To remove an item, click it and move it back to your inventory.
Keeping your gear upgraded is essential for staying effective in combat.
