Students Infront of Their Paintings at the SAAM Gallery
Building upon a wonderful year of meaningful community engagement, Deepti Designs has been moving beyond the studio and into the community with 40+ outside events.
These experiences were all made possible through exciting collaborations and workshops with organizations like eBay, Microsoft, Seattle Aquarium, ICS Redmond, and more, as well as our partnerships with the cities of Seattle, Bothell, Redmond, and Bellevue.
Furthermore, our partnership with KCLS and Sno-Isle Libraries has allowed us to host interactive workshops designed to engage and inspire our diverse audiences. Together, all these efforts helped expand our reach and create a more impactful learning experience for communities and students globally.
This year, we successfully held multiple workshops with the support of organizations across the region. Our partnership with the KCLS and Sno-Isle libraries enabled us to conduct numerous interactive workshops for our audience.
A major highlight of the year was our Art Courtyard event hosted at the Bothell Library. This workshop featured the work of four talented Indian artists, and participants had the opportunity to contribute to a community mural, which is now a temporary installation in the city of Bothell.
Additionally, we hosted several smaller workshops at Microsoft, eBay, and other locations, covering a variety of projects ranging from coasters and clay diyas to jharokas.
We also organized a workshop at the International Community School, where we were able to share the art with more than 60 students!
Throughout this year, our community has played a key role in our success, and we are truly grateful to every person who helped make this year possible!

Ms. Agrawal at the State Capitol
This year, Ms. Deepti Agrawal debuted as Grand Marshal for the City of Bothell! As Grand Marshal, she had the honor of leading the city's annual Fourth of July Parade.
Additionally, she visited the Washington State Capitol in Olympia, where she led a group advocating for the arts, culture, and humanities in the state. During this visit, she met with Senators and members of the House of Representatives to discuss the incredible artwork being produced across Washington, representing Humanities Washington.
Ms. Agrawal was also invited to be a guest lecturer for students at the Rashtriya Mithila Chitrakala Sansthan, the only registered college dedicated entirely to Madhubani painting, located in Madhubani, at the heart of the Mithila region. Among the audience were renowned Padma Shri awardees Baua Devi and Dulari Devi.
Additionally, our students achieved significant milestones, including clearing the 2025 ICFF emcee auditions, becoming an awardee at the congressional art contest, and participating in various exhibitions and events across Washington.
This year, we celebrated many significant milestones, but three very special ones stand out.
We were invited to participate in an India Day parade organized by the Consulate General of India in Seattle, an event that truly celebrated our heritage. Our artists dedicated themselves to making this event memorable by creating 2D Madhubani sculptures to complement our paintings.
Another incredible opportunity arose when we represented Deepti Designs through live painting at the prestigious JLF International event. As a school deeply rooted in the arts and storytelling, being part of this globally respected literary festival felt profoundly meaningful. Over three days, we painted live while surrounded by some of the world’s most brilliant thinkers, authors, scholars, and creators. The three collaborative pieces we created were later donated for auction.
Additionally, an exciting event took place in Darbhanga, Bihar, where we hosted an online Godna art workshop at the home of artist and educator Ms. Deepti Agrawal. The session was led by Padma Shri Shivan Paswan Ji, one of India’s most esteemed folk artists and a master of the Godna style, attracting participants from the UK, Canada, the USA, Germany, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and beyond. Local organizations like Kalakriti and Marwadi Mahila Manch collaborated with Ms. Deepti Agrawal and her family to honor Shivan Ji for his lifelong commitment to Indian folk art.

Students Presenting Their Paintings at Seattle Center
This year, we were fortunate to deliver multiple large and impactful presentations and host various exhibitions.
Our journey began with an invitation from the Seattle Aquarium to organize an interactive event for their AAPI Community Day. Our students represented the studio by conducting a pop-up show and a live art demonstration.
Following that, our artists had the opportunity to showcase their work at the Seattle Asian Art Museum. They not only displayed their artwork but also engaged with visitors during a meet-and-greet event, sharing the stories behind each piece. The beautiful paintings created by our artists truly captivated the audience, making it a memorable event that celebrated art, culture, and community.
To conclude our year, we held our annual show at the Seattle Center. In this event, 50 students displayed around 100 paintings. We also hosted a felicitation ceremony to honor the artists who went above and beyond in volunteering this year. This included PVSA qualifiers, teaching artists, and our newsletter editors. The awards were presented by our special guests, Suresh Sharma, the second-in-command to the Consul-General of India, and RoseAnn Lopez, the Director of Campus Operations at Seattle Center.
As we come to the end of 2025, we look back with gratitude on the boundless growth, creativity, and passion that have shaped this year. Every step forward has reinforced the commitment to spreading traditional Indian art with artwork that resonates and inspires.
Thank you to everyone for being a valued part of our journey. Your support and encouragement continue to motivate us as we move ahead, looking forward to another year of celebration and meaningful connections.
2026, here we come!
