We’re excited to share that our Madhubani art booth is officially set for May 24th, from 12–8 pm at the Seattle Center, as part of this year’s NW Folklife Festival! There are still some volunteer spots open, so if you’ve completed the sun project and want to get involved, we’d love to have you join us.
Volunteers will take a 2.5 to 3-hour shift, help lead art activities, and interact with visitors at the booth. It’s a fun way to share your skills and earn PVSA hours.
If you have something to share about your experience with Madhubani, your creative process, or your personal connection to this year’s theme, “ikigai,” this is your chance to present! If you’re interested in volunteering, presenting, or both, please contact Ms. Nikita Thakalath as soon as possible.

On Saturday, May 3rd, from 1–4 pm, we’ll be hosting a special public speaking presentation at the Bellevue Library. This event will feature the SpeakTank participants who have completed the Bright Voices term.
These students have worked hard over the past few months to build their confidence, polish their delivery, and find their voice—and now, they’re ready to share their final presentations with a live audience. Everyone is welcome to attend! So, come support our speakers, learn something new, and celebrate the power of student voices.
