According to the Council of Europe, digital citizenship can be defined as the set of skills considered necessary to behave responsibly and positively in digital environments in the context of work, residence, and information exchange. The partners of this project have set themselves the objective of enhancing their digitalisation processes by fostering the digital skills of their students within a framework of transnational cooperation.
We have developed a digital citizenship program that forms the basis of our project, linking the activities we propose with the competencies included in DigComp 2.2: The Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (European Commission, 2022). We have also connected the activities with the fields proposed, on one hand, by the European Declaration on Digital Rights and Principles (2022) and, on the other, with the dimensions identified by the Standing Conference of Ministers of Education of the Council of Europe member states, which designated the year 2025 as the European Year of Digital Citizenship Education in 2023.
The “Digital Citizenhip Education for Change” project is co-funded by the European Union. The opinions and views expressed in this web site are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE).
